As part of our community engagement mandate, SOLID produces local events that combine
public education with fundraising in order to mobilize people to take action on the AIDS pandemic.

Presenters Peg Herbert and Sister Alice Maputsoe addressed a crowd of high school students and community members about school to school twinning between Canada and Lesotho


Local Salt Spring Island businesses donated 16% of their proceeds, representing the 16,000 people infected by AIDS every day. Proceeds supported the Evaton West Community Garden.
